ZOOM ID: 893 5362 5188
PASSWORD: 415568
DAY: SATURDAYS
TIME: 4 PM PST
Hosted from Las Vegas
Note: You do not have to turn on your webcam if you don't wish to.
The host of the meeting has 40 years sober and also out of all forms of sex work and/or sex trafficking (she's been through many different types of this world before coming into the program). Her being out of that profession is simply because she found she could not stay sober and stay in it, especially once she got married and had a kid. Now many people she's shared with privately who had a lot in common have passed away, she noticed it's very difficult to share on how these issues are affecting her and working her program in a general meeting. So she's going to be bringing in speakers to share on their stories, and also have a topic discussion at these meetings that thanks to zoom give an extra layer of confidentiality to them. Since this topic involves our 7th tradition, and the program is to be worked "in all our affairs", we'll explore what that means for us in this meeting.
For those still in some form of sex work, or who were in their past - this subject is not an outside issue for us if it's affecting our ability to get or stay sober. We are not going to be taking any sides as to the subject itself whether legal or illegal, trafficked or voluntary. We are not here to condemn or approve of anything other than your sobriety. We take no stance on decriminalization, legalization, etc., in this program. This is about how we personally are relating to this topic - not about taking any sides on the issues. We also know we need a environment where we can feel safe talking about these issues without worrying that our neighbor, boss, co-worker, or friends may know about our past, or present, in this industry. Some of us are dealing with legal cases as I was when I first came into the program so you may need a court card signed - but you may not feel safe coming to other AA meetings to get that card signed. This meeting is also to provide a physically safe place for you to talk about whatever may be affecting your sobriety today.
Anyone who wants to stay sober can attend this meeting. If you have been or are working in some part of the adult industry, you can safely talk about it in this group without judgment. The only requirement for membership in AA is a desire to stop drinking.
